davie website revamp
Davie is Canada’s leading shipbuilder with a history spanning two centuries. Davie is an integral part of Canada’s rich maritime heritage and its bright future.
For this project, I was tasked with redesigning their current website, bringing it in line with the company’s new rebrand whilst also improving the user experience.

Project
The goals of this project were to redesign the client's current website, streamline the contents down to a manageable size without losing any important information, make the user interface more up-to-date, and add more character by adding animated infographics.
Scope of work
Key Challenge
The client came to us with a request to modernise their existing website and restructure its content to be easier to digest and navigate. They wanted to emphasise the company's rich history as Canada’s leading shipbuilder and their extensive goals for the company's future.
The original website contained far too much information and did not have an easy-to-understand flow. Our challenge was to address this problem and present Davie’s business in a much clearer way and restructure the flow of information.
WORKSHOP
To understand Davie and their expectations we organised several workshops. The main challenge was to identify key content the client wanted to outline and help them remove or restructure secondary information.
sitemap &
wireframes
The workshop allowed us to create the sitemap, organise sections and make the website's structure user-friendly for its target audience. Based on this I created wireframes to help the client visualise our proposal.
CONTENTS
The new content needed to reflect Davie’s strategy for the website: clearer information focusing on key data, easier to read and understand.
We brought in a copywriter to re-write all their content and make it a more user-friendly journey through Davie’s business and future targets.
INFOGRAPHICS
The animated Infographics added a layer of colour, character, and flair to the Davie website in line with their new branding.
